Dr. Hiram Ring works on Austroasiatic (AA) languages, with a primary focus on the Khasian family spoken in North-East India, but an interest in cross-border comparison with other AA languages spoken in Myanmar, particularly Palaungic languages. He is currently working on a project at UZH to compare and reconstruct basic word order in particular language families within Austroasiatic, which involves fieldwork in Myanmar. See: Website
